| Seniors: Psychology |
| |
| Description |
| This is a two
year course which explores many areas of psychology.
The AS does a fairly wide but shallow sweep
through a number of subjects, which are then
developed in more depth at A2. In the second
year students undertake their own research
which follows up the 'research methods' section
of the AS.
There is no expectation of previous knowledge
but this is an academic course requiring
high standards of commitment and work.
The academic years 2003 - 2005 are the
first in which a full A level psychology
has been offered.

| Facilities |
| There are no
particular resource implications for psychology.
We supply the basic text and guide further
reading. There are videos, cd-roms and other
resources, as required. We use psychology
in our teaching so expect to do group presentations,
hot-seating, focused mini-teaching, small
pieces of research as well as reading and
note making. |

| Career
Routes |
| Virtually any
career which involves working with people
would benefit from psychology. It is recognised
as an academic subject providing an excellent
basis for dealing with people. As such, universities
welcome A-level psychology as part of an application
for a wide range of subjects, including, of
course, psychology! |
